Real Estate Acquisition
Lanyard seeks to acquire quality real estate holdings in all core sectors (residential, office, industrial, hospitality and parking) and in various geographic locations across Canada. It is Lanyard's intention to continue to develop a diversified portfolio of holdings which, through careful management and value enhancement efforts, will experience significant capital growth over time. Recent holdings include residential, commercial and parking assets. Our preferred real estate acquisitions are in the $5,000,000 to $20,000,000 range.
Direct Equity Investment
Lanyard seeks opportunities to invest in operating businesses. Such opportunities generally encompass the outright acquisition or control of a business but may also involve participation in management buy-outs, shareholder successions and corporate re-structurings.
Generally speaking our direct investment activities focus on target companies meeting the following characteristics:
Proven track record of successful operations
Competent management in place
Well defined market opportunity and
Ability for Lanyard to add value through application of its management skills or through the introduction of new capital or business connections.
Lanyard prefers to take an active role in the affairs of the target company and may seek a control position. There will also be instances where Lanyard would make a passive investment and forgo control of the Board of Directors. The Lanyard "team" is comprised of individuals who have a wealth of experience in diverse business sectors: industrial, high tech, service, hospitality, manufacturing and retail. Lanyard can move quickly to analyze a potential business opportunity, undertake any requisite due diligence and corporate structuring and affect a timely closing.
